Mel B. Booed During First Day On Set At 'America's Got Talent' in New Orleans

Former Spice Girl Melaine Brown had a tough first day at work. 

The British singer, also known as Mel B., was recently cast as a new judge on "America's Got Talent" to replace Sharon Osbourne. However, TMZ reports that entertainer was booed by the audience at the auditions in New Orleans, which took place yesterday.

According to reports, the audience turned on Brown after she told a popular New Orleans brass band named Lagniappe that she doesn't like brass music.  In response, Big Easy locals shouted things at her like "go home" and "no respect."

Before the auditions took place, Brown seemed excited about sitting at the "AGT" judges table and shared photos and tweets on the set.  Fellow new judge Heidi Klum along with Howard Stern and Howie Mandel also tweeted similar photos, although the judges stayed quiet on reports that Brown was booed.

"Tomorrow we audition for America's Got Talent in front of the celebrity judge panel - cross your fingers!!" the judges posted to Facebook on Sunday.

This isn't the first time the Brit received less than a warm reaction from audience members as a judge.  In June, Mel B was booed after she insulted in 81-year-old contestant while she was judging the "X Factor U.K." She told the man that his performance made her want to "fall asleep," according to MTV News U.K.

The British performer has served as a judge on "The X Factor Australia" in 2011, guest-judged the U.K. "X Factor" and judged Britain & Ireland's "Next Top Model." In addition, she competed on Season 5 of ABC's "Dancing with the Stars," hosted the Oxygen weight loss series "Dance Your A-- Off" and starred in her own reality show called "Mel B: It's a Scary World."

Season eight of America's Got Talent premieres on May 28.
