When Prince William is not at the royal palace caring for his wife Kate Middleton and their growing baby, he is apparently saving the world!

The Belfast Telegraph reports that Duke of Cambridge sent out a helicopter to rescue two stranded hikers earlier this week in the mountains of the Snowdonia region in north Wales.  The hikers, who have not been identified, were reported missing on Monday by a friend who never received an expectant a phone call from them.

William, a pilot with the United Kingdom's RAF Search and Rescue Force, was called in after a group of mountain rescue team members and trained dogs located the two hikers in the mountainous terrain.  He then flew the hikers who were in their 40s and 50s to safe grounds.

Since the 30-year-old British royal has served as a search-and-rescue pilot in the RAF, beginning in September 2010, he has also rescued another hiker in addition to a pair of teen girls.  In August of 2012, the prince saved a Canadian hiker with a broken leg from the Anglesey coast. According to Canada's Globe and Mail, 58-year-old Darlene Burton was picked up in a helicopter by Prince William.

Later that month, he piloted another rescue mission to save two teen girls who had been swept out to sea off the coast of Anglesey. The prince was praised by the RAF for his impeccable timing.  The RAF called the mission one of its "fastest and shortest operations."
