Mark Hamill recently announced that he is in talks to work on "Star Wars Episode 7" but the vastness of the Star Wars universe has focused the conversation on a number of fronts. Among them are the recently announced spin-off movies. One of the films that has been rumored is a spin-off on the origins of original trilogy hero Han Solo. Even though there has been no confirmation on the project, numerous industry professionals have started to chime in on how the movie should play out. Among them is X-Men Director Bryan Singer.

Singer recently stated that he thought actor Nicholas Hoult should be cast as the young Han Solo.

"I'm seeing Nicholas Hoult's name on some shortlists to play a young Han Solo," said singer. "I don't know anything, but I literally would not be surprised if something like that happened."

He added, "I almost said something to Nick today about it, like, 'You know, I wouldn't be surprised if you find yourself in one of those.' But I have no idea, even though I'm working with Simon Kinberg every day and he is involved with that franchise, I have no information about that. It's just my own intuition."

Singer recently worked with Hoult on the upcoming "Jack The Giant Slayer." The director is currently working on "X-Men: Days Of Future Past" which will also star Hoult. Hoult was recently seen in the box office hit "Warm Bodies." The actor will be featured in the upcoming "Mad Max: Road Fury" and "Young Ones."

Entertainment Weekly first reported the Han Solo spin-off movie. The publication wrote that "the Han Solo story would take place in the time period between Revenge of the Sith and the first Star Wars (now known as A New Hope), so although it's possible Harrison Ford could appear as a framing device, the movie would require a new actor for the lead - one presumably much younger than even the 35-year-old Ford when he appeared in the 1977 original."
