It looks like fans can add yet another actor to their growing list of Christian Grey contenders. A third "Magic Mike" star, Alex Pettyfer, has been added to the mix as rumors have begun floating around the web about his potential involvement.

According to Enstarz, the British actor has been mentioned in other websites for the supporting role of Elliot, Christian Grey's older brother. However, the celebrity news website contends that Pettyfer "may very well have the looks and acting chops to pull off the lead as Grey."

While the website might be on board with Pettyfer playing the coveted role, fans might not think he's such a perfect fit. Grey is described as a tall, dark copper-color haired man with "intense, bright gray eyes," while Pettyfer is blond, blue-eyed and a few inches shorter than Grey is described.

Pettyfer,22, is also a good couple years younger than Grey, 27. However, Enstarz contends that his "rugged presence along with a little time in the makeup chair would more than certainly allow him to convincingly pull off the character." Unfortunately for the English actor, he will have to face competition from some strong fan favorites, including 'White Collar' actor Matt Bomer and "Man of Steel" Henry Cavill.

In the latest fan poll conducted by Latinos Post, Bomer lead Cavill by a narrow margin, 927 votes to Cavill's 898 votes. They were followed by returning fan favorite Ian Somerhalder ('The Vampire Diaries') with 613 votes and newcomer Ed Westwick ('Gossip Girl') with 582 votes.

Despite continued speculation over who will take up the coveted lead roles, fans of E.L. James' bestselling novel "50 Shades of Grey" will have to wait until screenwriter Kelly Marcel finishes writing the script and the production team decides on a director. The upcoming film, which was bought by Universal Pictures and Focus Films in early 2012, includes producers Mike De Luca and Dana Brunetti.

The first film in the "50 Shades" trilogy has yet to establish a release date.
