Connor Bird is definitely not following in his father's legendary Hall of Fame footsteps. Instead of chasing dreams to become an NBA player, Larry Bird's son is chasing a life of crime.

The 21-year-old was arrested on Sunday after a dispute with his ex-girlfriend. Bird attempted to hit her with his car on the Indiana University campus and was also in possession of marijuana, according to New York Daily News.

IU police chief Keith Cash said that Bird faces charges of battery with injury, criminal mischief, intimidation with a deadly weapon and marijuana possession.

The altercation reportedly began in Bird's apartment in Bloomington Indiana. The two got in a serious argument where Bird threw a cell phone at her, striking her wrist. They were later sitting in Bird's car together in a parking lot on campus when they began arguing again. She then exited the car to walk home when Bird allegedly tried to his her with his car twice.

A nearby eyewitness then took the woman to the Indiana University Police Department, according to police.

Bird was also arrested in 2011 for underage drinking and disorderly conduct. He's certainly not doing a great job of preserving the impeccable Bird legacy that his father instituted as a twelve-time NBA All-Star...
