The matchup between Madrid and Manchester United will feature numerous superstar matchups that will be the main focus once the ball rolls. However, the most important matchup may be between the two managers for each side.

Which team possesses the better manager?

Sir Alex Ferguson - Manchester United

Ferguson has won two Champions league trophies with Manchester United in his career; he was victorious in 1998-99 and 2007-08. He is not only a tactical genius, but also a tremendous leader. His team is one of the unified clubs in the Europe and they always seem to find ways to win games.

However, Ferguson has recognized that he will need to be cautious of Madrid's aggressive play that could expose his fragile defense.

"I think their target is the European Cup," Ferguson said of Real Madrid. "They got a bad start in the league and were chasing their tail a bit because Barcelona's form has been incredible. I think Jose has set his targets firmly on the European Cup, no doubt about that.

Look for Ferguson to have his team exert a physical effort to wear down Madrid's defenders.

Jose Mourinho - Real Madrid

The "special" one has his sights set on his third Champions league trophy. He guided Porto to the top prize in 2003-04 and matched the feat in 2009-10 while coaching Internazionale.  If he won the Champions league this year, he would be the first manager in history to do it with three different clubs.

"I want to become the only coach to win the Champions League with three different clubs," said Mourinho after few months ago.

His controversial persona has caused instability at the club, but when Madrid is in optimal form, they are unstoppable. He has finally started to get his team back to playing his up-tempo system in the last few weeks and it should pay dividends on Wednesday.

Edge: Hard to claim one is better than the other; both are legends. However, Ferguson's team goes into battle for him and will make any sacrifice to make him proud. I don't think Mourinho can say the same for his team. Ferguson has a slight edge.
