One New Orleans reporter decided to take matters into her own hands when a drunken bystander jumped in during her live broadcast on Bourbon Street ahead of the Super Bowl. WKMG reporter Jessica Sanchez was reporting on the celebrations that had already reached the Big Easy when she was interrupted by an inebriated 49ers fan.

Instead of ignoring the woman, Sanchez turned the situation right around to the videobomber. “Hi, very nice to meet you,” Sanchez told the cheering 49ers fan. “You’re going to do an interview with us? Okay, because we were just talking about here along Bourbon Street the STD rate that’s been going on here. So how long have you had an STD?”

The astounded videobomber quickly responded, “I don’t have an STD!” To which Sanchez replied, “Oh then why did you want to talk? Oh my gosh I’m so sorry.”

“Are you serious?” the wobbly woman said. “It’s nothing to be ashamed of,” Sanchez cheekily responded. The brief encounter, which many viewers were calling hilarious, ended when the woman walked away after telling Sanchez, “I don’t have an STD, that is disrespectful.”

While some viewers are calling Sanchez’s response to the woman “unprofessional,” others have said that Sanchez had every right to respond the way she did. WKMG Vice President and General Manager Skip Valet commented on the incident to reporters. "One of the challenges of live television is that the unexpected can and does happen," he said. "We are continually assessing how to best balance our reporting when confronted with these types of interruptions."
