Janice Poppo DiBello is the daughter of Ronald Poppo, the Miami homeless man who lost most of his face in a vicious attack by the unprovoked aggressor, Rudy Eugene, almost 10 days ago.

All throughout her life, Janice had never met, spoke or even seen her father, Ronald. It was only until recently when news of the 'zombie' style attack in Miami broke out that she finally read news about him.

According to the NY Daily News who first got in touch with her, Janice was 'stunned' to discover that Ron Poppo is her dad.

She told the media agency she had tried searching for her father in the past but never found any trace which in return made her think he was dead.

Janice's contact with the media agency prompted her to call her mother and confirm her kinship with Ronald, to which her mother, Theresa, gave her the nod.

Janice was stunned.

The IT analyst was not only "upset" for not having met her father, but that also "in shock" for all that has happened.

On May 26, authorities say that Rudy Eugene tore off at least 80 percent of Ronald Poppo's face in a gory and tragic incident. Poppo had his mouth, nose, eyes, and ears all torn off.

Eugene, the aggressor, attacked Poppo for a total of 18 minutes and could've lasted longer if it wasn't for Miami-Dade police officer, Jose Rivera, who finally shot him down. Eugene died at the scene.

The attack was likened to a "zombie apocalypse" style attack and caused a media frenzy over similar type attacks in the U.S.

The entire attack was captured on tape by surveillance cameras of nearby buildings including the Miami Herald's facility.

The Jackson Memorial Foundation announced the opening of a fund to help Mr. Poppo, who is staying at the affiliated Jackson Memorial Hospital. Donations can be made online at this website: https://www.jmf.org/take-action-now/donations/ (Under 'Other', write 'Ronald Poppo').
