Telenovela Stars Sebastian Rulli And Jorge Salinas will Cross-Dress For New Play "The Maids"

Actors Sebastian Rulli and Jorge Salinas will dress up as women for their next play "The Maids."

Rulli and Salinas will portray two housemaids, sisters Solange and Claire, who construct elaborate sadomasochistic rituals when their mistress Madame is away. The play by the controversial playwright Jean Genet focuses on the two characters role-playing the murder of Madame and taking turns portraying both sides of the power divide.

The play will be directed by Salvador Garini who stated during a press conference that it is a very complex play about the artificiality of society. Garini will take over the 1977 production which was first staged by Ruben Lara and in which legendary actor Alejandro Camacho, Jose Angel Garcia and Juan Ferrara participated.

Rulli is currently starring in the telenovela "Amores Verdadores" while Jorge Salinas was last seen in "La Que No Podia Amar." Garini is currently directing "Amore Verdadores" for which he is receiving bad reviews for the novela's action scenes. He is also directing "The Postman" with Ignacio Lopez Tarso. Garini is also gearing up to direct Erika Buenfil and Monika Sanchez in a new play in which the two actresses will interpret different monologues. Additionally Garini will direct for a new production of "La Celestina."
