President Barack Obama's job approval rating has seen mixed results based on two new polls from Gallup and Rasmussen Reports.
The Gallup polling organization surveyed between Jan. 21 to 23 and saw the president's numbers drop by one percent. He did go up in the disapproval column.
The Gallup poll shows President Obama at 52 percent approval while 43 percent disapprove at how he's doing as commander-in-chief.
The numbers are a slight change from the previous Gallup daily poll from Jan. 20 to Jan. 22 when the approval rating stood at 53 percent and the disapproval rating as 42 percent.
The Gallup numbers are better however compared to a year ago. The Jan. 21 to Jan. 23, 2013 approval rating was at 44 percent compared to the 47 percent that didn't believe he's doing a good job. In comparison when he first entered office in 2009, his approval rating was at 68 percent while 12 percent disapproved.

Rasmussen Reports show President Obama's approval rating at 55 percent while 44 percent disapprove. The Rasmussen poll released on Jan. 25 shows a one percent increase over the day from 54 percent while down one percent in the disapproval column.
President Obama's approval ratings at this point in 2009 were similar to Gallup's, hitting between the 60 to 65 percent spread while 29 to36 disapproved.
