HTC is all set to introduce a new flagship smartphone, the M7, anytime now, but that doesn't mean the Taiwanese-based phone manufacturer has forgotten about its older crew. The One X, one of HTC's finest offerings, is in the process of getting upgraded to Android 4.1 Jelly Bean to keep it fresh, and its latest beneficiaries are Canadians using Telus.

It was just a couple days ago that we reported Telus has released a Jelly Bean update schedule. The Canadian carrier stated that HTC One X users on its network will begin receiving Android 4.1 Jelly Bean Jan. 2013. It looks like Telus is sticking to its word, as reports are coming in that Jelly Bean has started hitting Telus One X handsets.

A quick look at the HTC Canada Twitter page confirms this: "#Jelly Bean is now rolling out for the @TELUS One X! It will be pushed automatically to your device or you can update manually."

Keep in mind that even though the update is being pushed out over the air, that does not mean everyone will receive it at the same time. Android updates are generally rolled out in batches, and take time to hit different regions over the air. Downloading the update manually is the more surefire way, but if you're iffy about updating your smartphone yourself, simply wait for the official OTA update to arrive at your doorstep - it shouldn't be too long.

Android 4.1 Jelly Bean brings several new features to the table, including Google Now and the system performance-enhancing Project Butter. Also included are some of HTC's own bells and whistles.

There is still no word on when the HTC One X on AT&T's network here in the United States will get its Jelly Bean facelift. It can't be too far off though, considering the One XL (an LTE One X, just like AT&T's variant) has already started receiving Jelly Bean.

Let us know if you're running Android 4.1 Jelly Bean on your One X and what you think of it.
