Sophia Vergara and fiance Nick Loeb are busy planning their wedding, but before they exchange vows, the couple reportedly wants to undergo pre-marriage counseling.
"[Vergara] decided they needed professional help before she would walk down the aisle," the gossip mag Star quotes a friend of Vergara's as saying.
The "Modern Family" star and her fiance hit a rough patch over New Year's Eve, when they apparently had a heated dispute in a Miami nightclub that had to be broken up by security.
"Nick appeared to get really angry after Sofia took a picture with a stranger and started screaming at her," one witness told Pop2It. "Nick had to be pulled off Sofia by security. Her dress got torn in the melee."
But now, things seem to be back on track. According to Vergara's friend, "they had their first [couples therapy] session over the phone---and so far, so good!"
Vergara told People earlier this month that her wedding will be a huge event with "music, dancing, a lot of food---not really sitting there hours and giving speeches."
"If I'm going to do something, it's going to be a big event," she added. And it seems she and Loeb feel the same way about engagement rings.
"If the ring Loeb gave here were any larger, she said it 'would be too big to wear,'" she told People. "Any smaller, and she 'would not like it.'"
