Before there was the Galaxy S3, there was the HTC One X. Widely considered to be one of the most solid, iPhone-rival-capable Android smartphones, the One X has enjoys legions of fans around the world. The good news for AT&T One X owners? Jelly Bean is making its way to HTC One Xs across the world, and it shouldn't be long before it lands here in the States.
It wasn't too long ago that we reported that the HTC One XL began receiving Android 4.1 Jelly Bean over the air. The One XL is essentially the international variant of AT&T's One X - both have LTE unlike the majority of One X variants in international regions. The fact that Jelly Bean exists in its polished form for an LTE-enabled HTC One X means that the AT&T update can't be too far off. I suspect the delay is largely due to AT&T working feverishly to stuff the upgrade with bloatware and other nonsense.
Canadian HTC One X owners, however, seem to be a bit more lucky. Carrier Rogers began pushing out the One X Jelly Bean update earlier this month, and a new statement from Telus shows that Jelly Bean should arrive on its network in Jan. 2013. Since the month is almost over, it must be imminent.
Jelly Bean for the HTC One X, in all its variants, is a huge upgrade, weighing in just under 700MB. In accordance with the amount of hard drive space it takes up, Jelly Bean will be bringing a number of new features to the table including the popular Google Now and much-loved Project Butter. HTC has also thrown in improvements to its interface and camera tools.
