"Pokémon: Origins" will directly be based on the first-generation video games "Pokémon Red Version" and "Pokémon Blue Version," which originally launched in the U.S. in September 1998.

In the special series, Red travels around the Kanto region with his starter Pokémon Charmander, The duo is seen in a gym battle against Pewter City's Brock where the moves Scratch and Tackle can be seen. Later in the episodes, Red encounters Team Rocket and its boss, Giovanni. Red also encounters Elite Four's Lance ahead of meeting the Pokémon League Champion.

As Latinos Post reported, the first episode of the four-part series will air on Nov. 15 on Pokémon TV in the U.S. Unlike the U.S., the special series will air on television in Japan on Oct. 2

"Pokémon Origins" will come nearly a month after the two-episode preview of the sixth-generation-based series "Pokémon the Series: XY" debut on Cartoon Network on Oct. 19. The two-episode preview of Ketchum's activities in the new Kalos region will be cut short as the full season is set to continue in early 2014 for U.S. fans.

Meanwhile, the "Pokémon X" and "Pokémon Y" video games will be released across Australia, Europe, Japan, and North America on Oct. 12 for the Nintendo 3DS and the new Nintendo 2DS.
