The report's speculation that the chip is the A7 processor is due to the A6 chip having the model number APL0598 while the A6X, as seen on the iPad 4, has APL5598 as its model number.
It is suggested Apple "varies the first digit for members of a given A-series family and increments the second digit when transitioning to a new family."
The A7 will reportedly have 1GB of Elpida DRAM.
As with most Apple rumors and speculation, the Cupertino-based organization has not addressed or confirmed the report.
As Latinos Post reported, pictures of an alleged iPhone 5S leaked last week featuring the battery, AX processor, and other components. From the leaked image, the battery features Apple Part Number 616-0652 and a higher capacity of 5.92Whr. In comparison to the iPhone 5, the Apple Part Number is either 616-0611 or 616-0613 and the device utilizes 5.45Whr. The iPhone 5S' battery also features two blank boxes, normally where regulatory bodies' logos would go, such as the FCC.
