Today the first image of what is purportedly HTC's new M7 smartphone leaked on Twitter by @evleaks and was published by unwiredreview.com. The device, which in its digital render looks a lot like an iPhone except with a lot more holes on the top and bottom for the microphone and speaker, is still in development, but we have the rumored specifications for you.

For a start, the M7 is likely to run the newest Android 4.2 operating system, which makes sense for the new flagship HTC phone, and it'll run on a 1.70 GHz quad-core processor. It was earlier rumored to boast a 5-inch display, but according to Tech Crunch, it will likely have a 4.7 inch display screen capable of 1080p HD output.

As you see on the photo, there's a front-facing camera (as well as a back-facing camera). The front camera will be capable of photos up to 2 megapixels, while the back of the M7 will sport a 13-megapixel camera. For such high quality photos, you'll need a lot of storage, and the M7 is rumored to have a 32 GB capacity.

According to Digital Trends, the M7 could also come with the newest version of HTC Sense interface, or Sense 5, as well as a built-in infrared sensor which could give the M7 the capability to be a universal remote control.

The unveiling of the HTC M7 is rumored to happen in about a month, at the Mobile World Congress 2013 in Barcelona, where several smartphones and tablets from HTC, Sony, Nokia, Huawei, and LG are likely to be introduced.

The convention begins on February 25, so be sure to check back with us for more updates as they happen.
