Move over Donald Trump, there's a new GOP front-runner in town!

Ben Carson has totally usurped Trump's top spot as GOP front-runner, well out of the margin of error. Recent findings by NBC News and Wall Street Journal ranked Ben Carson with a 29 percent approval rating by Republican voters.

As NBC points out, this is the highest rating any GOP candidate has received so far in the survey. Trump came in at 23 percent.

Trailing Behind

The remaining Republican presidential hopefuls are trailing a ways behind. Marco Rubio received an 11 percent rating, while Ted Cruz, Jeb Bush, and Carly Fiorina were ranked at 10, 8, and 3 percent respectively.

Carson For The Win?

As NBC News explains, as the presidential race continues, the results of the past two surveys indicate Carson has been gaining on Trump thus proving himself as "the man to beat."

If past polling has been about Trump leading the GOP field, "then this survey is about Dr. Ben Carson, who is currently the man to beat for the Republicans," says Democratic pollster Fred Yang, whose firm Hart Research Associates conducted this survey with Republican pollster Bill McInturff.

Moreover, Carson is also the first GOP candidate in the NBC/WSJ poll to get majority support as either a first or second choice among GOP primary voters.

A combined 50 percent of voters selected Carson as their overall first and second choice in the GOP presidential race. Trump was determined to receive a 35 percent vote. Rubio came in with 24 percent and Cruz with 23.

So what makes the former neurosurgeon America's leading right-wing man? Previous polls may be able to answer that question. In a survey conducted by ABC News and Washington Post on around mid-October, Carson was determined to be trailing Trump, however he possessed some stand out traits that the luxury realtor did not.

According to the GOP candidates attribute survey, Carson was viewed as the "most honest" candidate with the "best personality."

Sounds like two characteristics most would hope the leader of the free world would possess.

However, there is still plenty of time for Trump or any other candidate to inch their way forward.
