The fortunes of the Tennesee Titans in the 2013 NFL season is officially dead in the water. According to Jackson Sun, the team would not qualify for the playoffs and its quarterback situation is in limbo. With just two games to go in this futile season, there is little to cheer about in Titan land.

There may be one story though that may elevate the season from being forgettable to special. That is if the Titans sign quarterback Tim Tebow. The recently honored "America's Most Influential Athlete" by the NFL Media is beloved in the Bible belt region of America.

There are drawbacks though, as highlighted by the Christian Post in their recent interview with the unsigned football personality. There is the Tim Tebow Circus and the sound bites that draw attention in magnified terms. However, there is also the media personality side of Tebow that will, at least, bring focus and hype to the lowly season of the Titans.

Notably, the former New England Patriot was even the subject of a recent book by Sports Illustrated writer Thomas Lake, which was chronicled in the Poynter Excellence Project. There have been mixed reviews on the book, which is entitled "Tebow, From a Distance".

Should the Titans sign Tebow, this will make a big splash to the team. His attendance alone, because of his circus and his legions of followers, would do great wonders for game attendance. Many may think that should this idea pursue, it would be a pure publicity stunt or even a move fraught with risk. However, it is worth noting that Tim Tebow is a football player and a good one after all. This would make for a fairy tale ending for a down and out football preacher and franchise seeking its next hero.

Still another move for Tim is a pending offer from the Milano Seamen of the Italian Federation for American Football. NFL.com quoted a report that Milano team president Marco Mutti had confirmed an offer has been made to his agent and "we're waiting for a response."
