Apple's latest mobile operating system has reportedly led to battery drainage issues for iPhone owners.

According to consumer reporter John Matarese, iPhone and iPad owners have stated their device has locked up while downloading iOS 7.

However, users who have installed the new mobile platform have encountered new problems with battery drainage issues.

In Matarese's reported, he noted one iPhone 5 owner's battery running at twice the rate it normaly runs at.

A potential solution has been provided. For iOS 7 users experiencing battery drainage issues, it has been recommended to turn off Air Drop, Wi-Fi searching and to dim the display screen. A fourth technique to save battery life is to disable the "Background App Refresh," which functions to update apps even when you're not using them.

The battery issues are the latest of iOS 7 problems.

As Latinos Post reported, the syncing to the music app has proved to be an issue for some iPhone owners. In addition, iOS 7 users have stumbled onto iMessage and Facetime issues immediately after downloading the latest Apple mobile operating system.

For iPhone 5c and iPhone 5s users, Apple released a new update after iOS 7 launched worldwide on Sept. 18. The iOS 7.0.1 update, is stated to feature "bug fixes and improvements" including a fix for the fingerprint sensor on the iPhone 5s. iPhone 5c and iPhone 5s owners can obtain the latest software update over-the-air by tapping Settings, then General, and finally Software Update. The iPhone 5s and iPhone 5c smartphone owners can also install the update by connecting to iTunes 11.1.

iOS 7 is available for the iPhone 4S, iPhone 5, iPhone 5C, iPhone 5S, iPad 2, iPad 3, iPad 4, iPad mini and the fifth generation of the iPod touch.
