The Nokia Lumia 1020 is officially available in Australia, however, for one mobile carrier, a setback has occurred.

According to TechAU, carrier Telstra has suspended all pre-orders for the Lumia 1020 Windows Phone 8.

Jason Cartwright reported software issues within Nokia resulted in cancelling the pre-orders and delay the launch of the 41-megapixel smartphone from the carrier.

Telstra has not provided a new release date but offered compensation to consumers who have pre-ordered the device. Telstra offered the Lumia 520 for free instead.

The issues with the Lumia 1020 is said to be only with Telstra as fellow mobile carrier Optus and retailer Harvey Norman have no problems with the selling of the Windows Phone 8 device.

As Latinos Post reported, the Lumia 1020 was set for release with Telstra on Sept. 17, with a suggested retail price of AUD $899.

Telstra and Optus, however, will only sell the black model of the Lumia 1020. Harvey Norman will provide more variety with the Windows Phone 8 smartphone as it will sell the white and yellow models of the Lumia 1020. Allphones and Dick Smith will offer the black and yellow Lumia 1020 models.

The Lumia 1020's features include a 4.5-inch screen with 1,280x768 pixels covered in Corning Gorilla Glass 3. The new Windows Phone 8 device has 32GB of internal storage for 2GB of RAM. The device includes a front-facing camera with 1.2 megapixels, and also packs a 2,000mAh battery.
