Kevin Durant of the Oklahoma City Thunders was recently crowned Most Valuable Player of the NBA for the 2013-2014 season by Kia Motors. He averaged 32.0 points and 7.4 rebounds per game, as well as having a career high 5.5 assists per game.

Despite teammate Russell Westbrook being on and off from the bench due to a knee injury, the "Durantula" managed to lift the team to second best in the Western Conference with a NBA regular season record of 59-23, in a report by Stupid Dope.

The combined efforts of Durant and Westbrook made the Oklahoma City Thunders the top offensive team in the NBA. Durant showed that he can score from behind the three-point line and can hit jump shots from almost any area inside the arc. His top plays for the season were a mixture of crossovers, fade-away jump shots, dunks and buzzer beaters.

Durant also showed that he can also be a clutch player and is one of the most difficult players to guard in the league. Many times he brought the team back up from the edge of defeat by shooting with his slender arms from almost any point within a range of 24 feet. It is apparent that defenders find it almost impossible to block his shots because of his skill and quickness.

Whil Durant may not be as powerful as the previous MVP LeBron James, who prefers to dominate his opponents by dunking hard on them and involving a lot of physical contact when driving to the basket; the "Durantula" instead opts to create separation from his opponents and utilizes other members of the team as necessary, which can explain why he reached a new milestone by topping personal best in assists for the season, according to a report by NBA.com.

The small forward has also improved his play and ball handling skills more and waits patiently until his opponents lose their footwork and balance to drive along the lane, find an open man or hit a long shooter.

Here's a video of his most awesome plays for the year.
