World champion and current NBA Most Valuable Player LeBron James tops the list for jersey sales in 2013, beating hundreds of other players in the National Basketball League.

The list is compiled annually by NBAStore.com during the last quarter of every year. This includes sales from both the online store and Adidass tores.

Coming in second is L.A. Lakers guard Kobe Bryant, third is Chicago Bulls guard Derrick Rose (despite his injuries). Winding up as fourth is Oklahoma City Thunder's Kevin Durant, and fifth overall is the New York Knicks' forward Carmelo Anthony.

As for James, he has fully grasped hispopularity among the fans of basketball until a certain incident he had. The fact hit him when he saw someone wearing the Miami Heat No. 6 jersey on the street, while on honeymoon with his wife in Venice. The player related to ESPN, "It's kind of crazy, honestly. There's a wow factor."

James, in a report on USA Today, added "If people live the way I play the game of basketball, love the way I inspire to be better, that's great.  Everytime I see someone in my jersey, a complete stranger, it's a 'wow' factor. For me to be the No.1 guy, to have the most jersey sales, it's crazy."

NBA.com added that James' jersey has held the top position for U.S. domestic sales five times already. The site also reported notable highlights as to jersey sales for the year. These include Golden State Warriors guard Steph Curry at the 6th overall spot, and Houston Rockets guard James Harden at No. 12 overall. Also included on the list is first timer, Indiana Pacers guard, Paul George coming in 14th overall.

Other names on the list are James' backcourt mate in MIami, Dwayne Wade, L.A. Clippers guard Chris Paul, Cleveland Cavs guard Kyrie Irving, and L.A. Clippers forward Blake Griffin.

On another note, this is the seventh year that Adidas is the official on court outfitter and apparel provider of the NBA. Two new jerseys are set to be released this Christmas, namely the short sleeved jersey, which the teams will be wearing on their Christmas day match ups; and the Name Collection jerseys, where the monickers, like "King James", would be emblazoned at the back.
