Andrew Bogut revealed that his agent and the Golden State Warriors have started discussions regarding his contract extension, which could keep him out of the free agency market next offseason.

In an interview with NBA.com's Scott Howard-Cooper, the Australian center said that his agent David Bauman is already talking to his team and the talks will intensify once they return to the United States from their trip to China.

Bogut, who averaged 5.8 points and 7.7 rebounds per game in the 2012-13 NBA regular season, revealed that the Warriors have already made an initial offer--which he described as "not insulting"--but reiterated that it is not the type of contract that would persuade him to stay with franchise.

The former No.1 overall pick added that a resolution to the situation will be made before the start of the 2013-14 season, but it could go both ways - either he will stay with the Warriors or he will become a free agent next season, joining several marquee names on the market.

Bogut, who was slowed down by several injuries that caused him to miss 50 games last season, said that he would also agree to games-played incentives, but not up to the extent of accepting a conditional contract similar to what Andrew Bynum signed with the Cleveland Cavaliers.

"If these were chronic injuries from lack of conditioning or not working out in the summer or being a fat slob, I can understand the caution. But would I do things to the extent that Andrew Bynum's done with his contract? Hell no. The clauses that he has, there's no chance I would sign a contract," said Bogut, referring to Bynum's contract wherein the amount of money he'll receive will depend on the number of games played next season.

Bogut, who will be in the final year of his five-year deal worth $60 million, could sign a maximum three-year extension with the Warriors or ink a four-year deal as a free agent next offseason.
