The Sacramento Kings may not match the offer sheet received by restricted free-agent Tyreke Evans from the New Orleans Pelicans and instead pursue a sign-and-trade deal to land a solid point guard.

The Kings have the rights to match the Pelicans' four-year, $44 million offer to Evans within the next three days, but NBA insider and former Sacramento Bee writer Sam Amick thinks the ball club could demand a sign-and-trade deal that will give them Greivis Vasquez.

Amick says Vasquez and Evans share the same agent, making negotiation for the trade very much possible.

As I mentioned on air, safe to say Pelicans PG Greivis Vasquez - who has same agent as Tyreke Evans - is gettable in possible sign & trade.

Evans averaged 17.5 points, 4.8 rebounds and 4.8 assists over four seasons with the Kings. In 2010, Evans won Rookie of the Year after becoming the fourth player in NBA history - joining Oscar Robertson, Michael Jordan, and LeBron James - to average at least 20 points, 5 rebounds, and 5 assists.

However, injuries and inconsistency on the court slowed down Evans' career over the past three years. There are reports that Evans wants to get out of the Kings to have a fresh start in his career.

As for Greivis Vásquez, he is coming off a breakout season, averaging career-highs 13.9 points, 9.0 assists, and 4.3 rebounds in his second season for the New Orleans Pelicans. Taken 28th overall by the Memphis Grizzlies in 2010, Vasquez played most of his rookie year off the bench before he was traded to the then Hornets in exchange for Quincy Pondexter in December of 2011.

Vasquez is seen fit for the Kings, who have young and talented players such as DeMarcus Cousins and high scoring draft-pick Ben McLemore.
