The Miami Heat are hoping that they can continue the momentum they have attained after dismantling the San Antonio Spurs 103-84 Sunday night in Game 2 of the National Basketball Association's (NBA) Finals series.

The Heat bounced back strong, despite LeBron James' early game struggles, James having gone 10-for-13 during the first three quarters of Game 2, with Mario Chalmers leading Miami's charge with a 19-point performance that was part of a 33-5 point Miami offensive run.

"I felt like we had them on the ropes," said Chalmers regarding an in-game conversation he had with James. "I told [James], 'Let's go for the kill.' He said, 'I'm with you.'"

Heat coach Erik Spoelstra loves the confident manner in which Chalmers handles himself on a team loaded with all-stars - showing ice-cold nerves like he displayed after hitting the tying shot for his alma mater, Kansas University, in the 2008 NCAA championship game.

"You have to have guts to play with our guys. If you don't, you get swallowed up," said Heat coach Erik Spoelstra. "The good thing about it is the other guys were fine with him making plays."

Heat forward Chris Bosh also notched a solid game, after criticism for his offensive struggles. Bosh scored 12 points and snagged 10 rebounds in the Game 2 romp at the AmericanAirlines Arena.

"We were just a little bit more active today," Bosh said. "We really just made an emphasis to continue to try to corral them."

While the Spurs managed to snatch home-court advantage after a blow-out win in Game 1, the team was disappointed not being able to build on the win and go back to San Antonio up two games, instead of tied 1-1.

"If you would have asked me before heading to Miami, I would say okay, I'll take it; winning one and losing the other by 20, not a big deal," said Ginobili. "But once you win the first one, you forget about that. Odds are over, and you face a new game as if it's a Game 7, and you want to win it, too - knowing full well that they were going to come hard, they were going to play a better game."

For his part, Spurs head coach Gregg Popovich puts the onus of Sunday's loss on his "Big Three" veterans - Ginobili, point guard Tony Parker, and center Tim Duncan - who missed a combine 23 of their 33 combined shots in Game 2.

"Tony, Manu, and Timmy were the ones that were 10 for 33," said Popovich. "I'm not going to put that [responsibility for the loss] on the bench. That's when every team is at their best, when the perimeter is making shots, when the bench is playing well, when you have a lot of contributions. That helps you win basketball games."

Game 3 is tomorrow night, at AT&T Center, in San Antonio.
