If LeBron James ever decides to leave his multimillion-dollar career as an NBA player, another cash-generating job awaits him. Joe Theismann believes that the Miami Heat superstar has the DNA to become a great NFL quarterback.

In a phone interview with FOX Sports Florida last Saturday, the former Washington Redskins says he sees so much potential in James, especially when it comes to the NBA MVP's on-court intelligence.

"He's the most tremendous physical specimen in all of sports," Theismann told FOX Sports Florida. "I think he's certainly talented enough. He's intelligent. He's like the quarterback on the Miami Heat."

The buzz about James being a QB all started last Friday, in Game 1 of the Eastern Finals against the Indiana Pacers. During the game, the star showed his court general skills with a number of great passes and finds. In the after-game conference, LJB was asked if he thinks he could have been a good quarterback if he wanted to, the star answered:

"I think so. I have the ability," James answered. "I can see and read plays. I study a lot, so I know defenses and things of that nature. So I would have been pretty good if I had decided to go for it."

As a matter of fact, LeBron is no stranger to football. In 1999, he played as quarterback in the freshmen team of St. Vincent-St. Mary High School in Ohio. He then moved to the wide receiver position from 2000-2001.

With his skills and know-how, Theismann says he could be an NFL QB even in his late 30s.

"He could play another four years in the NBA before seriously trying the NFL," the former NFL player shared. "There are not a lot of 38- or 39-year-old basketball players, but there are 38- and 39-year-old quarterbacks, so there's always time for him."

The Super Bowl champ even offered his services to LeBron as a would-be agent and a mentor.

"I would love to work him out and also serve as his agent," Theismann added. "The first thing I would do is teach him the snap. Then I'd take him through drop backs, quick hitches, throwing the deep ball."

Theismann, who lives in Memphis, also told FOX that if by chance the Grizzlies wins the Western Finals and goes head-to-head with the Heat (update: Spurs win series against Memphis, 4-0), he wouldn't think twice about approaching James with his QB idea.

Now, it is all up to the King if in the next five or ten years he'll take a chance in the NFL.
