Four-time NBA champion Tim Duncan knows a thing or two about winning titles-key thing being, one's head has to be in the game to win.

And it appears that could be his mentality in asking a judge in Texas to put his pending divorce case on hold until after the San Antonio Spurs finish their season as they find themselves in the Western Conference Finals.

According to TMZ, legal documents in Bexar County, Texas indicated that Duncan was asking for additional time before the proceedings carry out on his divorce from his wife, Amy, who filed in March.

Duncan says in the documents that his job as the power forward for the Spurs "is currently making extraordinary demands on him and hopefully will continue to make those demands for the next 30 or so days."

In essence, this means Duncan is hoping to take the Spurs all the way to a fifth NBA championship when the NBA Finals begin in June.

The San Antonio Express broke the story originally after finding the divorce documents bearing only the initials of Tim, 37, and Amy, 35. However, the lawyers involved declined to confirm whether Tim and Amy were the parties involved in the proceedings.

Amy filed for divorce, she wrote in the documents, because their 12-year marriage had become "insupportable because of discord and conflict."

It is looking like the divorce case for the future NBA Hall of Famer may take a while to get into the courtroom to start his divorce proceedings with the way the Spurs are playing. Currently, San Antonio is up 2-0 on the Memphis Grizzlies in the Western finals and could be well on their way to heading to another NBA Finals appearance.
