Destiny or plain luck, the Cleveland Cavaliers were the big winners in Tuesday's draft lottery after landing the no.1 pick in the upcoming NBA Draft on June 27 in New York.

With only 15.6 percent chance of winning the lottery, the Cavs pulled it off to take their second no.1 pick in three years and fifth overall.

Nick Gilbert, whose luck helped the Cavs win the no.1 pick in 2011, brought in the same amount of fortune for his father and Cavs owner Dan Gilbert as the ballclub looks to add another major piece into their young but talented lineup and hopefully put an end on their three-year postseason drought.

The Cavaliers already landed a jackpot in the draft two years ago when they used their no.1 pick for eventual All-Star point guard Kyrie Irving.

Now, the Cavs are in perfect position of getting a solid player that could finally take them over the hump since the departure of former no.1 pick LeBron James.

"Kyrie is a hell of a player ... but this also felt almost as good," Nick Gilbert told ESPN on Tuesday. "That was the first time. This is the second time, but man does it feel good to get the first pick this last time. Get that last player to give us a push."

Among the emerging prospects in this year's draft are Kentucky Wildcats center Nerlens Noel and Kansas Jayhawks shooting guard Ben McLemore.

Noel, no.1 ranked prospect out of 2012 High School class, had an excellent season as a defensive presence for the Wildcats before the 7-foot shot-blocker went down with a torn ACL in February. McLemore, on the other hand, is viewed as an explosive wing player with outstanding athletic ability and efficient clip from the outside.

Aside from the top pick, the Cavs also have no.19, no.31 and no.33 pick for next month's draft along with a slew of valuable trade assets and a flexible salary cap to sign a max player this offseason.

The Cavs also re-hired head coach Mike Brown, who guided the franchise to their first ever NBA finals before he was replaced by Byron Scott in 2010.

The Orlando Magic, who finished with the worst record last season, took the no.2 spot while the Washington Wizards landed no.3 spot. The Charlotte Bobcats settled for no.4 and the Phoenix Suns rounded out the top-5.
