The action continues to heat up in the first round of the NBA playoffs as the action continues on Thursday.

On Wednesday, three of the remaining first round playoff series took a dramatic turn. In New York, Jeff Green's 18 points powered a motivated Boston Celtics squad as they beat the New York Knicks 92-86 in Game 5 of the series to force a dramatic Game 6 Friday in Boston. The Knicks lead the series 3-2, but now fall in danger of becoming the first team in NBA history to blow a 3-0 lead in a playoff series to a Celtics squad with several remnants of their 2008 NBA title team still intact.

In Indiana, Davis West lead the Indiana Pacers with 24 points as the Pacers pounded the Atlanta Hawks 106-83.  The Pacers took a 3-2 lead in the series, with Game 6 scheduled for Friday in Atlanta. And in Oklahoma City, the Houston Rockets stunned the heavily-favored Oklahoma City Thunder thanks to James Harden's 31 points as the Rockets beat the Thunder in a 107-100 thriller, despite the Thunder sending Houston center Omer Asik, a poor free throw shooter, to the line repeatedly. With the Thunder up 3-2 in the series with Game 6 moving back to Houston on Friday and the Rockets with the momentum in the series now.

The action continues on Thursday at the United Center in Chicago, where Joakim Noah, Carlos Boozer and the Chicago Bulls look to wrap up the series against Deron Williams, Brook Lopez and the Brooklyn Nets. The Nets took Game 5 on Monday 110-91 to keep the series alive, thanks to Lopez's 28 points. But the Bulls are hoping that the home court advantage will lift them to the semifinals.

And at the Oracle Arena in Oakland, Calif., the Golden State Warriors hope to close out the series when they meet the Denver Nuggets, who are down 3-2 in the series.  The Nuggets kept alive in the series by beating Golden State on Tuesday behind Andre Iguodala's 25 points. But the Warriors will have the home court on their side for Game 6 as they eye a semifinals date with the San Antonio Spurs.
