For some teams, the semifinals could be a game away, while for others, the first round is just getting started as NBA playoffs action continues this weekend.

On Friday, the New York Knicks used defense and Carmelo Anthony's 26 points to wallop the Boston Celtics 90-76 at the TD Garden in Boston, Mass. The win puts the Atlantic Division champion Knicks up 3-0 in their best of 7 first round series with the Celtics, and only one win away from eliminating the Celtics to win their first playoff series since 2000.

At the Staples Center in Los Angeles, Tim Duncan's 26 points provided the Southwest Division champion San Antonio Spurs with the firepower they needed to hand the L.A. Lakers a 120-89 defeat, the worst playoff loss at home in Lakers history. San Antonio is now only a game away from the semifinals with a 3-0 series lead.

And in Oakland, Stephen Curry led the way for the Golden State Warriors with 29 points, out-dueling Denver Nuggets star Ty Lawson's 35 points as the Warriors beat the Nuggets 110-108 in a thriller as the Warriors took a 2-1 lead in the series.

The action continues on Saturday afternoon as Brook Lopez, Deron Williams and the Brooklyn Nets hunker down at the United Center to take on Joakim Noah and the Chicago Bulls. The Bulls hold a 2-1 lead in the series; can they go up 3-1 or will Brooklyn tie the series at 2-all as it shifts back to Brooklyn for Game 5 on Monday?

Then, the Pacific Division champion L.A. Clippers have a battle on their hands as they battle the Memphis Grizzlies, who battled their way back by winning Game 3 on Thursday. L.A.'s "Lob City" duo of Chris Paul and Blake Griffin look to take a commanding 3-1 lead in the series, but NBA Defensive Player of the Year Marc Gasol and the bruising Zach Randolph have other ideas.

In Atlanta, Paul George and the Central Division champion Indiana Pacers are looking to put Atlanta in a deadly 3-0 hole when they visit Josh Smith and the Atlanta Hawks.

And in Houston, the Western Conference champion Oklahoma City Thunder are looking to forge ahead without star point guard Russell Westbrook when they take on All-Star James Harden and the Houston Rockets, who look to come back from a 2-0 hole to keep their season alive.

Then on Sunday, the Knicks look to end their series with the Celtics, while LeBron James and the world champion Miami Heat look to do the same to the Milwaukee Bucks. Dwight Howard and the Lakers will look to stave off elimination at home against Duncan, Tony Parker and the Spurs while the Warriors host the Nuggets in Game 4.
