Kobe Bryant is saying goodbye to Twitter for now, as the LA Lakers face the San Antonio Spurs in Game 2 of the quarterfinals. The Black Mamba's tweets went viral after the superstar went on a commentary spree during the Laker's Game 1 loss against the Spurs, 91-79.

Kobe, who has deemed this season over after tearing his right Achilles tendon, did not suit up for Game 1 nor was he sitting on the sidelines. Instead, the superstar player was at home watching the games broadcasted on TV just like any mere mortal. Due to his right foot injury that needed surgery, the player was not cleared for travel. "Elevation from flight would cause swelling unfortunately," he tweeted.

However, being miles away didn't hinder Bryant from saying what he felt during the game. Using the social media website, the 16-year veteran went on a tweeting spree that involved criticising the Lakers' play and his thougts on his teammates' game.

After replying to a few fans, he then posted what he thought Pau Gasol had to do in the game.

It's different when a fan watching the game gives his two cents on what a team should do; and it's totally different when a team's star player tells the whole world what his team is or isn't doing during an important game. So much so that fans, critics and the media have all picked-up after the Mamba's tweets--creating a stir in the NBA world.

Asked about his feelings towards Kobe's tweet, Coach Mike D'Antoni of the Lakers rolls his eyes.

"It's great to have that commentary," the coach said. "He's a fan right now. He's a fan. You guys put a little bit more importance on that kind of fan. He's a fan, he gets excited, I'm sure he wants to be a part of it."

This prompted another tweet from Kobe.

"A fan?? Lol #microphonetalk," he posted.

But it seems that Kobe has thought about all the buzz his 140-character tweets have created and decided to keep his thoughts to himself. While he promises not to tweet during Game 2 of the Lakers-Spurs Playoff, he does promise to cheer for his team all the way.
