UFC president Dana White previously said that he hasn’t discussed anything with Ronda Rousey regarding when she would be returning to MMA action. However, it seems that he has finally accepted the fact that it won’t be anytime soon.

Not even in six months time?

Recall that via ESPN The Magazine, Rousey spoke on her current state and was obviously not too excited about making an immediate return.

She admits still feeling the effects of that shocking kick from Holly Holm which knocked her out, something that has made it difficult for her to eat.

"It might be three to six months before I can eat an apple, let alone take an impact," says Rousey in one part of that interview with ESPN.

With that said, White has now broadened his way of thinking and has reportedly agreed to allow reigning UFC Women’s Bantamweight champion Holly Holm to be in a match until Rousey is ready for the planned rematch as reported via the Bleacher Report.

That should be welcome news to Holm who, together with her handler Lenny Fresquez, have been batting for either a fight before or on UFC 200 to make sure that the 34-year-old champion stays in shape. The obvious name that Holm and Fresquez have in mind is Miesha Tate, the only other female fighter to have lasted longer than one-round against Rousey. Holm and Tate are friends but all that could change in the Octagon.

Right now, that possible setto is unofficial until the UFC steps in and makes a formal announcement. There is a chance that Holm could defend her crown against Tate for March 5 where the UFC is planning a PPV though no venue has been announced as reported through ESPN.

If so, it would be perfect for Holm who had been angling to get back in the Octagon before UFC 200 in July but this was with the understanding she would be having that rematch with Rousey. Assuming that it would be a Holm vs. Tate match, there is also the question if one match will be enough for Rousey to regroup and return to the Octagon.

Rousey is still apparently down in the dumps though a scheduled hosting gig at “Saturday Night Live” on January 23 can more or less help gauge the real state of the former UFC bantamweight champion.

Holm recently inked a new pact with the UFC, something that Fresquez officially bared via ESPN earlier this week.

The details of the new deal were held back by Fresquez in what seems to be included in the new contract though he adds that any announcement of such (including Holm’s next opponent) will come from the UFC soon.
