Last Friday, James Rodriguez of the Real Madrid Team was in hot water due to him being involved in a police car chase wherein he was driving an Audi R8 with a speed of 125mph.

According to The Daily Mail, the police sources confirmed to the Spanish press that Rodriguez was spotted overtaking a car at a very high speed down the left hand lane of the M40 road in Madrid around 4:45 P.M. The Colombian soccer player was driving a black Audi r8 and was driving twice the legal speed limit.

The police officers chased the Colombian athlete for about 15 minutes approximately 3.7 miles. The police activated loud sirens and lights as the chase began and kept calling Rodriguez to pull over. They reportedly shouted ''Pull over on the right! Pull over on the right!" but the athlete continued unaware. The chase ended when Rodriguez pulled into the Real's Valdebebas training complex with the police car trailing behind him.

Police officers confronted Rodriguez in the training complex. The Colombian athlete kept arguing that he was running late for his training session and did not notice the police chasing him because he was playing really loud music.

The midfielder was not arrested but it he was cautioned by the police officers about Public Safety Act and will notify the prosecutors. The decision will be made whether the player committed a road safety offence and further action will be taken. The police also informed that Rodriguez was pursued with an unmarked vehicle after committing a serious breach of disobedience.

Meanwhile in another report by the Mirror UK, Rodriguez claimed that he fears being a victim of a kidnapping plot so he tried to outrun the police by driving 200mph down the highway. He was fearing that the car chasing him was trying to abduct him, a common situation in Colombia. He then apologized to the officers.

The Real Madrid striker has the possibility to face a fine and lose his driving licence because of the the two offences, disobeying an officer and serious traffic violation.
