Entertainment Weekly just released six new photos of Benedict Cumberbatch's Doctor Strange, to the delight of fans. The EW cover provides a first look at the 39-year-old actor dressed as the magical Marvel character in their latest issue.

Fans are given a clear preview of the Sorcerer Supreme's Eye of Agamotto amulet, which is one of three mystical beings that provide him with magical powers.

As noted by Mashable, there still isn't much detail on the "Doctor Strange" film, but its brief synopsis does tell of the doctor's origin.

"Doctor Strange" centers on the story of famous neurosurgeon Stephen Strange, whose career is destroyed following a car accident. In the process of finding a way to heal himself, he discovers alternate dimensions and the world of magic.

In the EW interview, Cumberbatch hinted at a few details about his character and the "Doctor Strange" movie.

"...there's going to be crazy s-t going on. There's all sorts of craziness [in Doctor Strange]. Falling, flying, jumping, fighting, punching, getting punched. It's really rough and tumble," the actor revealed.

In the EW "Doctor Strange" special, Producer Kevin Feige also shared how hard it was for them to get Cumberbatch into the project.

"[Benedict was someone that we were very interested in for a very long time," Feige explained. "But he kept getting more popular, and more popular, and he kept getting busier, and busier, and it looked like the timing wasn't going to work. So we looked at some other actors for a while and ultimately decided, 'We have to try and make it work with Benedict and with his schedule.'"

The latest issue of EW also exposed cast details.

It's already known that Tilda Swinton will play the mystic the "Ancient One," while Chiwetel Ejiofor will play her associate "Karl Mordo." However, it's only now that Mads Mikkelsen and Rachel McAdams' characters in "Doctor Strange" are revealed.

Mikkelsen plays the main villain, executive producer Stephen Broussard revealed.

Feige also shared a bit of background on Mads' character and said he is a sorcerer who goes rogue and believes that the Ancient One is only protecting her own powers, adding that the character thinks the world is better with magical beings involved.

As for Rachel McAdams' character in "Doctor Strange," Feige revealed that she is Cumberbatch's fellow surgeon who provides that connection to his old life, which helps him reconnect to his humanity.

Director Scott Derrickson is expected to wrap up filming of "Doctor Strange" in March 2016. Benedict Cumberbatch joins the Marvel Cinematic Universe on November 4, 2016. According to Comingsoon.net, the film is penned by scriptwriter Jon Spaihts of "Prometheus" and "Passengers".
