It's a no brainer that Marvel has been the leading studio when it comes to comic book films and cinematic universes. It has spent almost 10 years creating its awesome films, all of which have become popular in Hollywood. However, DC Comics and Warner Bros. pose new and tough competition.
It started with 2013's "Man of Steel", which was followed by a slew of other new movies starting 2016 until 2020.
Below are the Top 5 most anticipated films from the major studios in comic book universes.
MARVEL MOVIES
Captain America: Civil War - May 6, 2016 (U.S. Release Date)
Considered an "Avengers" follow up, "Captain America: Civil War" will finally show the physical manifestation of the existing conflict between Iron Man/Tony Stark (Robert Downey Jr.) and Captain America/Steve Rogers (Chris Evans). The first trailer shows as much, with the two superheroes fighting both physical and emotional battles with the new Superhuman Registration.
Iron Man is pro-government while Captain America, who wants to save his friend Bucky/Winter Soldier (Sebastian Stan), is against the registration. With the two leading opposing groups, the Avengers become divided and are forced to choose which side they are on.
"Captain America: Civil War" will also see new characters - Spider-Man/Peter Parker (Tom Holland) and Black Panther/T'Challa (Chadwick Boseman), rumored to play a big role in Stark and Rogers being able to patch things up in the end.
X-Men: Apocalypse - May 27, 2016 (U.S. Release Date)
Suggested by the title itself, "X-Men: Apocalypse" will center on the story of Apocalypse (Oscar Isaac), the first mutant, who will battle it out with the iconic mutant team of X-Men. However, it's not easy defeating Apocalypse since he's also the most powerful villain the team has ever fought, according to Cinema Blend.
Deadpool - February 12, 2016 (U.S. Release Date)
Featuring a faithful adaptation of the comic book, "Deadpool" stars Ryan Reynolds as the foul-mouthed but funny Wade Wilson. The 39-year-old actor appears to have been born to play the role. Thus far, all trailers and marketing efforts of "Deadpool" have been nothing short of awesome and hilarious, and even straight from the pages of the comic book.

Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice - March 25, 2016 (U.S. Release Date)
Considered as a follow-up to the "Man of Steel", this new Zack Snyder creation is the launch pad for the DC Cinematic Universe, therefore much is expected of the film, which centers on an epic battle between the two biggest superheroes in history - Batman/Bruce Wayne (Ben Affleck) and Superman (Henry Cavill). Other characters set to appear are Lex Luthor (Jesse Eisenberg), Wonder Woman (Gal GAadot) and Doomsday, among others.
Suicide Squad - August 5, 2016 (U.S. Release Date)
A new take on superhero films, David Ayer's "Suicide Squad" will feature a group of villains as the protagonists. As reported by Cinema Blend, the film will center on the supervillains who are given a second chance at redemption. "Suicide Squad" will feature much-anticipated iconic characters such as The Joker (Jared Leto), Harley Quinn (Margot Robbie) and Deadshot (Will Smith).
