Adele is now the reigning queen in pop music, overthrowingTaylor Swift from her throne - well, at least in numbers.

The British pop singer can now be described as the most powerful woman in pop music, a title held by Taylor Swift just a month ago.

The boost came mostly from Adele's latest album "25." The break in record sales of 2.433 million albums sold in four days leaves Tay Tay's "1989" trailing behind with 3.38 million copies sold during its first week of release.

According to Fox News, the 27-year-old Brit star's 2.433 million streak was previously held by N'Sync since 2000.

When it comes to music videos, Adele beats Taylor again with her "Hello" music video receiving 27.7 million views during its first day. Meanwhile, Swift's "Bad Blood" music video received 20 million viewers on its first day.

Speaking of music videos, Adele's "Hello" also beat Taylor Swift's "Blank Space" in most searched song lyrics in 2015.

While Taylor Swift's "squad", which is composed of celebrity heavyweights like Lily Aldridge, Selena Gomez, Ellie Goulding, Karlie Kloss and Cara Delevingne, captured everyone's attention, Adele has proven that her own celebrity squad composed of A-list stars like Jennifer Lawrence, Josh Hutcherson, Emma Stone and Liam Hemsworth is also a contender.

As for tours, Swift's "1989 World Tour Live" that was released Sunday via Apple Music showed the world how Taylor can create heart-stopping excitement with a frenzy of star-studded guests including Ellen Degeneres, Justin Timberlake, Lisa Kudrow, Mick Jagger and Wiz Khalifa.

However, in this category, it would seem that Adele beat Taylor once again. Adele's tour hasn't even started, and yet tickets to all her upcoming shows have sold out in minutes. Fox News claims that online sellers are offering tickets at staggering prices. Perhaps the largest is on Ebay, with $48,000 worth of tickets. StubHub has $11,000 ones but Craigslist offers the lowest with $7,000 to $9,000 worth of tickets.

Considering only the numbers, it would appear that Adele is the clear top contender in the pop culture industry. However, many music industry experts are saying that the two cannot be compared.

As noted by The Weekender, "it's easy to place the two side-by-side, but in reality, there is no comparison as the singers are completely different artists who have traveled vastly different paths to their respective success."

New York-based radio host Ralphie Aversa echoes the sentiments.

"Swift is younger and took a different career path to pop stardom; Adele was sidelined with vocal cord issues and took time away from the spotlight to have a child," Aversa explained.

Pop culture guru Lisa Durden also believes there's no competition between the two.
"(Swift is) packaged to the max: body, hair, clothes, songs, all come together very well. I'll even throw in the fact that she can entertain," she said.

"Unlike her, Adele's voice can compete with the likes of Aretha Franklin, Patti Label, and the late great Whitney Houston. The only place Taylor could achieve that kind of vocal excellence is in her dreams," Durden adds.
