Lenovo will be getting Android 6.0 Marshmallow soon. An update roadmap was recently spotted, showing when particular Lenovo smartphones will be receiving the new OS update.

Android Authority reported that a number of images recently surfaced online. These first appeared on the Chinese social media site, Weibo. Among the pictures was an update roadmap particularly indicating when specific handsets from Lenovo will be getting the Android update.

Based on the images, popular phones like the Lenovo K3 Note, Lenovo Vibe X3 and Lenovo Vibe P1 will receive the Android 6.0 Marshmallow update early in 2016. Other Lenovo devices will get a notification in the summer of 2016. Although Lenovo are not as popular in the United States, it seems that there have been much effort in providing the new Android software to their various products. Lenovo previously acquired Motorola, which is known to be among the first to update their devices to the latest OS.

Some Lenovo owners may have to wait until September 2016 to receive their updates. Lenovo was not among the first to get Android updates in the past, but its new collaboration with Motorola may boost things to the delight of users.

Phone Arena noted that the Lenovo K3 Note is expected to receive the update in March 2016, together with the Chinese versions of the Vibe X3 and the domestic Vibe P1. In April 2016, Android 6.0 Marshmallow will arrive in the Chinese version of the K3 Note as well as the international version of the Lenovo A7000. In May, the international versions of the Lenovo Vibe X3 an Vibe P1 will also receive the new update. In June, the international version of the Vibe S1 will get the update, followed by the international models of the Vibe X3 and A7000+ in July 2016.

Realty Today revealed that the Lenovo Vibe S1 is currently running on the Android 5.0 Lollipop, while the P1 operates on the Android 5.1 Lollipop. Lenovo made an official state that the smartphones with a personalized version of the operators or those that are under contracts will not be getting any Android updates.

In the meantime, other brands like Samsung, Sony, HTC and Huawei already had several of their devices updated to Android 6.0 Marshmallow. There are reports that Google’s newest mobile OS is already available on 0.3 percent of all Android smartphones.

More updates and details on the Android 6.0 Marshmallow roll out on Lenovo devices are expected soon.
