Paul W.S. Anderson's sci-fi, "Resident Evil: Final Chapter," is undergoing production. In order to offer fans a bit of sneak peek, actress Milla Jovovich took to Instagram to post a photo showing a quick behind-the-scenes look into the movie.

Jovovich's photo on November 19 was an old version of her character, Alice, in "Resident Evil: Final Chapter," leaving fans to speculate her wrinkled skin and gray hair could mean a flashback of sorts in the highly-anticipated film.

According to Yibada, Milla further posted photos of herself on the social media site, in the process revealing that the old Alice look, which took more than four hours to make, will not be appearing at the end of the film.

While the old Alice look is not included at the end of "Resident Evil: Final Chapter," Cinema Blend reported that Jovovich's photos indicate an old Alice story in the plot. The website added that the older Alice could simply have prematurely aged because of experiments and battles she had undergone over the years, noting that the aging effect would be similar to the plotline of Solid Snake in "Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots."

Movie Pilot also said that it's possible that viewers will be seeing a series of flashbacks in the upcoming film.

Meanwhile, fans are rest assured that they will still see Milla Jovovich battling it out with the bad guys in "Resident Evil: Final Chapter" as the actress also shared a photo of herself in her battle getup.

The story of "Resident Evil: Final Chapter" picks up after the events in 201's "Resident Evil: Retribution." It will see lead character Alice teaming up with the villain Albert Wesker as they return to Raccoon City. In this place where all the nightmare began, they need to battle with the Umbrella Organization, which is controlled by computer AI, the Red Queen. The organization is rallying its forces to make its attack on the last survivors of the apocalypse.

The "Resident Evil: The Final Chapter" cast includes of course, Milla Jovovich, and others like Shawn Roberts, Ali Larter, Iain Glen, Eoin Macken and Joon-Gi Lee.

In an E! Online report, the film will also cast a few newcomers including Ruby Rose from "Orange is the New Black," as well as actor William Levy.

Anderson will helm the film, while co-producers include Samuel Hadida, Victor Hadida, Robert Kulzer, Jeremy Bolt, Martin Maszkowicz and Janine van Assen.

"Resident Evil: The Final Chapter" is slated for release in the United States January 27, 2017, a full five years following "Resident Evil: Retribution."
