Republican presidential front-runner Donald Trump expected about 5,000 supporters at a Miami rally last Friday. NBC 6 South Florida reports that he didn't get near that number, but those that did made a lasting impact on Latino activists.

Ariel Rojas, one of at least three Latino demonstrators kicked out of Trump's event, was kicked and dragged while Trump supporters chanted "U-S-A! U-S-A!" Video of the attack was uploaded to the NBC affiliate's Facebook page. The demonstrators, who reportedly attend Florida International University, each held letters spelling the word "E-Q-U-A-L-I-T-Y."

The crowd continued cheering, and Trump never stopped speaking through the ordeal.

Rojas said the altercation began when attendees tore his group's signs into pieces. There were reports of other activists' being harassed, including one who was smacked with a sign that read "The Silent Majority Supports Trump."

Trump's campaign distanced themselves from the incident, saying people who forced protestors out were neither Trump employees nor employees of the venue. As for the man who dragged Rojas out, they said he was "merely an attendee."
