The Blu-ray/DVD version of “The Flash” Season 1 had a fun Easter egg that was allegedly removed. The teaser showed a potential appearance by Aquaman, which may spark the interest of DC fans.

The deleted scene was released through Entertainment Weekly.

It showed Barry Allen explaining to detective Joe West (Jesse L. Martin) why he is late again for work. Barry said that he was in Starling City, the home city of Oliver Queen/Green Arrow, because there were reports that a man had super strength and can bend steel with his bare hands. It hinted the appearance of Wilson/Deathstroke (Manu Bennett) and his army of soldiers using the Mirakuru serum that gave them super strength.

However, Joe seemed skeptical about Allen’s explanations, saying that in the previous month, Barry was searching for a man who can talk to fish in Amnesty Bay. Joe’s statement suggested that Barry may have been referring to Arthur Curry/Aquaman, who grew up in Amnesty Bay.

Screen Rant wrote that it was interesting to see several characters in The CW series developing superpowers, particularly the Justice League. However, it may be unlikely that Aquaman would team up with the Flash in a future episode.

Due to the film plans of Warner Bros. and DC, which director Zack Snyder refers to as the DC Extended Universe, primary heroes slated to star in future film projects are unlikely to be featured in the TV shows. It is more feasible to believe that Aquaman will first be shown in the developing solo film, starring Jason Momoa.

Even if one of the primary characters will make a TV show appearance, the potential that they might have a bigger role in the series is still doubtful. “Arrow” planned to include Harley Quinn in its plot, but the upcoming film “Suicide Squad” limited her presence to a brief cameo. The same is expected to happen to Booster Gold in “Legends of Tomorrow” and John Stewart in “Arrow”.

Some fans, however, are still hopeful that the writers will find a way to introduce Aquaman even for just a short while in the TV series.

“The Flash” Season 2 is set to premiere on The CW on Tuesday, October 6, 2015 at 8:00 p.m.

“The Flash: The Complete First Season” will go on sale on September 22. More news and details on the upcoming season and characters are expected soon.

The “Aquaman” movie is scheduled to launch on July 27, 2018.
