Unfortunately, Beckham, David Beckham will not be playing James Bond.

Plenty of netizens have "fancasted" the 40-year-old soccer superstar as the next James Bond. However, to their dismay, Beckham has put the rumours to rest by saying he is "definitely" not planning to star in the famous action franchise.

"I saw that the other day and I laughed many times about it," Beckham told ABC last Thursday. "Definitely won't be in the next James Bond."

People confirms via ABC that Beckham hasn't even considered making the transition from soccer player to actor.

"I've never, ever thought about going into any kind of acting," Beckham added. "People have actually started talking about me and my new career of acting, which it's not my new career of acting, it's just something that I'm kind of stepping into and enjoying myself with."

In the meantime, Beckham is focusing on fashion like his "posh" wife Victoria Beckham. In addition, he recently starred in a short film for the British luxury clothing brand Belstaff to be released on Monday, according to ABC. The father-of-four and former Los Angeles Galaxy star appears in the campaign as a "leather-clad, mysterious stranger" in the short film titled "Outlaws."

"I ride bikes, I wear these kind of clothes," Beckham said. "It's not a false thing. It's not something where I'm like, 'Oh, I've got to do a campaign. I have to wear these clothes. I don't like them.'"

"These are clothes that I've kind of had some kind of involvement with, you know, creating," he said of his wardrobe in "Outlaws." "What we created, I love."

Beckham currently runs a fashion line, which he oversees in partnership with his wife. He described their working relationship as "pretty easy," adding, "We've been together for 18 years, we've been married for 16 years so you trust each other's judgement. I think that has worked for us."

"My wife, you know, she's a hard worker," he said of his wife's dedication to her craft.

Beckham also shared that he considers the United Nations Children's Fund (UNICEF) as the one thing closest to his heart -- after his wife and children. He has been a UNICEF Goodwill Ambassador for the past 10 years. Beckham is also expected to deliver a speech at the United Nations in New York next week.
