CNN hosted the Republican Party's second presidential debate Wednesday night. A common theme, outside of verbal beatings Donald Trump took, was the influenced Ronald Reagan had on each presidential hopeful.

A majority of participants had something to say about the real estate magnate, but many stuck to hot topic issues of women's rights and national security, primarily when it came to immigration and foreign policy.

Here's a look at some of the candidates' most memorable comments.

Donald Trump

"I don't think you would be asking this question if I didn't run." - On illegal immigration

"I promise, if I wanted it I would have got it." - After Jeb Bush said Trump wanted his support for a Florida casino

"I won't do that because I said nothing wrong." - Responding to comment made about Bush's wife

"More energy tonight, I like that." - On Bush
