The National Football League (NFL) has just opened, but the game inspired by the popular American Sport has already drawn a huge crowd last August.

According to Game Informer, the August 2015 NPD reported that 'Madden NFL 16' is the top grossing video game for the month despite being released late in the period, just barely two weeks ago.

As pointed by Game Rant, although the games released in the "Madden NFL" franchise seems to be mere "roster updates," its massive sales every year is already an enough reason for Electronic Arts (EA) to continuously release a new game under the title.

Hence, amid these massive sales, Madden NFL 16 is quick to release its first major patch in order to address the general gameplay and mechanics as well as the Connected Franchise and Ultimate Madden Team mode.

In a report by EA Sports, it cited that issues regarding the "encroachment penalties" that are being given to AI defenders as well occasional calls despite no contacts were addressed in the new patch. "Quarterback locomotion warps" were similarly resolved for the gameplay aspect of the hit video game franchise.

Meanwhile, the new patch also fixed the bugs for the Connected Franchise mode which leads to various problems such as the disappearance of some players from the free agent pool as well as easily signing elite and superstar players in discounted or lower value than what it should really be.

The game publisher even suggested that players should not start the connected franchise mode until installing the new patch in order to avoid experiencing the said problems.

Moreover, besides addressing the bug that causes a short-term attribute boost to players, rookie's deep accuracy rating and QBs "supersim" stats which allowed them to have too many carries during a game were likewise tuned.

Glitches such as the absence of images on certain items and repetition of commentary lines and presentation were repaired along the bugs that could cause the game to crash when using multiple controllers or when exiting the game.

EA Sports also added that the update will fix general bugs and stability issues earlier reported for the game.

"Madden NFL 16" is already available for Xbox One, Xbox 360, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 3 and PC. However, the new patch is currently available only for Xbox One and PS4 and there is no confirmed date yet for the release of the update for the PC version and old generation consoles.
