Season 7 of "The Good Wife" is going to take viewers out of their comfort zone and onto the national stage.
Cinema Blend reported that the newest season of the political drama will put the one of the show's main characters, Peter Florrick, into a race for the Democratic Party's presidential nomination. It is also reported that Peter will go up against real-life politicians, most notably Hillary Clinton.
The show's creator and executive producer, Robert King, has informed the viewers that Clinton isn't necessarily going to be in the show. However, the show will follow the current events in the race as close as possible. This could be a difficult task, however, since the show does actually film several months before the actual events of the political race occur. According to TV Line, King states that even though they will try their best to keep up with what's really going on in the races, he does reserve the right to take another direction at any time during the season. The show's creator realizes that anything can really happen at any time in these types of races. King goes on to say that he is shocked on how quickly the landscape of the whole race can change overnight. With Peter running, it opens the chance for several guest stars to make cameos or recurring roles as well. One such guest star has already been confirmed as Victor Garber of "24" fame. CBS announced Garber's involvement in Season 7 via their Twitter account, posting that Garber is to play a strict judge on the show. Several other guest stars have been confirmed to be returning in Season 7 including Jeffery Tambor, Carrie Preston and David Paymer. The story of the show is meant to be dynamic and will keep fans on the edge of their seats, wondering if Peter will win or not. However, one thing is for certain. According to King, the Iowa Caucus will have a major arc in the show. This possibly due that this event happened on Feb. 1 and all the information about it are already available. King would like to remind everyone that Peter is running for the Democratic Presidential nomination and for those who are hoping to see rogue candidate Donald Trump slip into the show should not expect much.
