After his five-year marriage ended in divorce just recently, Lamar Odom is reportedly reaching out to try and salvage what he had with ex-wife Khloé Kardashian.

The former NBA player is supposedly trying to rekindle the old flame, which dimmed after issues arose involving his infidelity and drug relapse.

An insider revealed to Hollwood Life that Odom initially reached out to fellow athlete and father figure to Kardashian, Caitlyn Jenner, who is formerly known as Bruce.

"Lamar was filled with emotion after he and Khloé signed off on their divorce and the only person he could think of talking to was Caitlyn," the insider said. "He bawled to Caitlyn on the phone, telling her how much he's going to miss Khloé and what a mistake he realizes he made."

"He asked Cait if there's anything that he could do to win Khloé back and Caitlyn told him that just like Bruce Jenner is dead, so is his marriage to Khloé," the insider added.

Ouch! A source close to Odom told RadarOnline that the 35-year-old basketball player still posses strong feelings towards his 31-year-old ex: "He really regrets their spilt and believes that what they had was true love."

Moreover, the source also claimed that it has been hard for Odom to watch her with other men.

"Lamar was upset when she hooked up with James Harden," the source added. "He has been terrible to Khloé lately, but he hated seeing her with other men. They were hooking up and he was really mad that she was with other guys too."

Regardless of their differences, it seems the love between the former couple seems mutual.

"Lamar is genuinely one of the best people I've ever met, and everyone says that when they meet him, I think Lamar's gonna always be that person [for me]," Kardashian admitted to Complex

On the topic of marriage, the "Keeping Up with the Kardashians" star went on to say: "When you genuinely feel like that was the right relationship, you're supposed to give it all you can. That's what marriage is about. It's not, 'Let's see if this works, if not we always have divorce.' I am not one of those girls. You took a vow before God and you're supposed to abide by that."

With their feelings coming to light, maybe there is potential for the two to reconcile what they once had.
