Controversial comments Donald Trump made about Mexicans last month have led numerous TV personalities and high-profile companies to withdraw support for the Republican presidential candidate.

One group maintaining their silence through the ordeal, for the most part, is the Republican Party, which further distances itself from the vociferous media mogul with every controversial comment. Aside from Ted Cruz's "I salute Trump" proclamation and Mike Huckabee's claim that Trump isn't hurting the Republican field, the renowned belief is that Trump really is hurting the GOP brand, especially when it comes to winning over potential Latino voters.

Trump is garnering the type of headlines his constituents don't want, and Democrats have taken notice. In a YouTube video released Thursday, the DNC mocks the "Retrumplican Party" by mashing up Trump's views on immigration reform with similarly held belief of other potential nominees.

"Trump may be running for president," the short video concludes, "but his ideas are running the party."

Despite calls to tone down his rhetoric, Trump has repeatedly doubled down on racist remarks made during his June 16 presidential candidacy announcement. RNC chairman Reince Priebus spent nearly an hour speaking with Trump over the phone Wednesday, urging him to appease the Latino community that were offended by his calling Mexicans criminals and rapists.

Hours later, Trump reiterated his immigration stance on NBC, saying Democratic presidential candidate Hillary Clinton would "let everyone come in...killers, criminals, drug dealers."

Trump went on to say Mexicans love him and that he will win the Latino vote.
