The next Moto X (2015) is rumored to arrive in two variants.

According to Phone Arena, there will be a 5.7-inch version and a 5.2-inch one of the next Moto X device. The larger variant is said to be called Moto X Plus though it may still change when it's finally released. The larger version will reportedly feature stereo speakers. It is still unknown whether the smaller version gets the same.

Meanwhile, watch Total Tech's video on the new devices below:

An earlier report from Phone Arena and STJS Gadgets said the 5.2 inch version of the device will get a Quad HD Super AMOLED display and a resolution panel of 1440 x 2560 and a pixel density of 565ppi.

Previous reports from Phone Arena citing STJS Gadgets said the new 5.2-incher device will have a 16 megapixel camera with an optical image stabilizer. The camera is also said to use Clear Pixel technology. The 3rd Generation Moto X would also be capable of 4K recording at 30 frames per second, 1080p recording at 60 and 120 frames per second and 720p recording at 240 frames per second. The new device is said to get a 5 megapixel front camera.

As for the processor, it is said to get a hexa-core Snapdragon 808 chipset. It will also likely have a 4GB of RAM and be available on 32 GB and 64 GB versions. For the software, it is said to be installed with the newest Android L 5.1.1 version.

The 5.7 inch version by the way is said to be a Verizon exclusive device. A leaked image also showed that the new Moto X devices might get a fingerprint scanner and type-C USB port.

"The picture of the chassis didn't show many components in place, so the lack of the fingerprint scanning module doesn't mean that it won't be offered on the device. In fact, with a square cut out perfectly located underneath the camera, the odds would seem to favor that a fingerprint scanner will be embedded inside the Motorola logo on the back of the phone," Phone Arena detailed.

Now, for the release date, Android Origin said that Motorola usually announces its new X series every third quarter so an August or September launch for the new device would be likely.

Motorola President Rick Osterloh has earlier somewhat hinted about the possible release of the new device.

"We try to stay on a roughly annual cycle for all of our products including Moto X," Osterloh tweeted, however failing to detail on the matter.
