After Caitlyn Jenner introduced herself to the world for the very first time, the 65-year-old made record-breaking history by being the fastest Twitter user to gain one million followers. Caitlyn broke the record that was previously set by President Barack Obama.

The 65-year-old reality star, formerly known as Bruce Jenner, made her way on the cover of Vanity Fair's July issue. After her cover photo was released with a caption that reads, "Call me Caitlyn," she then made another record by unveiling her official Twitter account and in a matter of hours, she gained one million followers. In a day, she was able to total in two million and that number is only expected to increase in the coming days.

In a report by Daily Mail, the hashtag #CallMeCaitlyn also trended worldwide and it's not stopping anytime soon. The former Olympian received an outpour of support for coming out and being true to self. Using her very own Twitter account, she posted a thank you message to all her supporters.

"Another Jenner world record, and at 65? Who'da thought! Humbled & honored to have reached 1M followers in 4 hrs. Thank you for your support," Jenner posted.

Meanwhile, President Barack Obama tweeted his support to Caitlyn saying, "It takes courage to share your story. Your story matters in the fight for LGBT rights."

"I'm so happy after such a long struggle to be living my true self. Welcome to the world Caitlyn. Can't wait for you to get to know her/me," Caitlyn tweeted in response to the President's message.

Obama was able to gather one million followers in a span of five hours after his official Twitter handle was made. Caitlyn was able to break that record by having one million followers in just four hours. Robert Downey Jr. is another personality who was able to gain one million followers in just less than a day.

Although there is a wave of support for Caitlyn, the #CallMeCaitlyn tag also brought in a lot of negative reactions in Twitterverse. Unfortunately for Jenner, there are still people out there who use her public act of bravery as a chance to strike.

Salon.com, gathered a few negative reactions from Twitter users regarding Bruce Jenner's coming out. It seems like some conservatives are not okay with Bruce transitioning to Caitlyn.

"Your biological sex is completely mutable, but your sexual orientation is completely immutable. #ThingsILearnedFromTheLeft," Twitter user Ben Shapiro said.

"You probably agree that transgenderism is a mental illness, but you're too cowed by the potential disapproval of your peers to say so," Twitter user Neal Dewing tweeted.
