There are talks that a former cast member will be making a comeback in the Season 6 finale of "Community."
Cinema Blend reported that actress Yvette Nicole Brown will be coming back in the season ender to reprise her role as Shirley Bennett. A Reddit user revealed the guest listing of the final episode, featuring Brown's name. Brown previously exited from the show before the start of Season 6 to deal with family issues. She left in good terms with the show producers and even mentioned that a recurring role would have been good for her.
TV Guide noted that executive producer Chris McKenna and Dan Harmon believed that Brown was an integral part of the show and was irreplaceable when she left. She had to care for her sick father. Brown also has three kids, a business and a degree so there were plenty of reasons why she had to leave the show.
Brown said at that time, "I'm still Community's biggest fan and I'll still live Tweet episodes. It's very bittersweet. I can take care of my dad but won't be with my TV family. I don't want the fans to worry; it's going to be fine. Greendale is the heart of the show, not any particular character. Even if characters come and go, the heart of Greendale remains."
In Season 6 of "Community," Brown appeared in the premiere "Ladders." She played along Steven Weber in a promo for "The Butcher and the Baker," a fake NBC drama. For the finale, she might play the same fake role, based on the episode description showing Abed requesting the other characters to imagine pitching a TV show on the things that they would be doing in Season 7, Cinema Blend added.

Episode 13 (Season Finale): Emotional Consequences of Broadcast Television
Guest Stars: Paget Brewster, Keith David, Yvette Nicole Brown, Seth Green
As their sixth year at Greendale draws to a close, Abed (Danny Pudi) asks everyone to imagine pitching a TV show about what they would do in season seven. Joel McHale, Alison Brie, Gillian Jacobs, Jim Rash and Ken Jeong also star.
Directed by: Rob Schrab
Written by: Dan Harmon and Chris McKenna
CarterMatt.com wrote that the circumstances surrounding Brown's return are still uncertain but the concept appears to be great for the season finale. It is also unlikely that the show will have a Season 7.
