The film “Fifty Shades of Grey” was a huge hit and fans are already talking about the sequel, “Fifty Shades Darker,” which will allegedly feature more Hollywood stars.

The next movie in the franchise, “Fifty Shades Darker,” which will launch on February 10, 2017, is said to present new characters. Jamie Dornan will be reprising the role of Christian Grey, while Dakota Johnson will still play Anastasia Steele. VC Post reported that Charlize Theron will take on the role of Elena Lincoln or Mrs. Robinson, Christian Grey’s former dominatrix and present business partner. Lincoln was the older woman who introduced Grey to BDSM.

Cara Delevingne is being considered to become Leila Williams, Christian’s former submissive who transformed into a stalker. VC Post also wrote that five other actors are being considered for the role of Jack Hyde, Steele’s new boss, who has evil intentions on her. Included in the list are Henry Cavill, Aaron Taylor-Johnson, Wes Bentley, Jai Courtney and Shawn Ashmore. FashionNStyle wrote that many fans are looking forward to have Henry Cavill become part of the cast and play Hyde. Cavill became famous for playing Superman in “Man of Steel."

“Fifty Shades Darker” will be the banner film of Universal Pictures but will require a new director because “Fifty Shades of Grey” director Sam Taylor-Johnson will no longer be serving in the next film. There were talks that Taylor-Johnson and book series author E.L. James clashed during the filming process. Screenwriter Kelly Marcel will not be coming back for the second movie too, based on a report by The Hollywood Reporter. Donna Langley, chairman of Universal Pictures, dismissed the rumors, saying that James did not interfere during filmmaking. FashionNStyle added that James’ husband, Niall Leonard, will become part of the group and serve as writer.

Michael De Luca told The Hollywood Reporter, "Niall is an outstanding writer in his own right, with multiple established credits, and we are lucky to have him join Team Fifty.”

If Theron and Cavill are cast in the second movie, fans may be seeing more of them as the franchise continues. Universal Pictures already stated the official premiere date for “Fifty Shades Darker” and slated the third movie, “Fifty Shades Free," for a February 9, 2018 premiere. With the two stars in the cast, the second film is expected to become a box office hit just like its predecessor, which raked in over $568 million.
